Primary Use: SAE Baja
In 1976 the Society of Automotive Engineers (S.A.E.) launched the 'Baja' collegiate competition. This competition series challenges engineering students to design, engineer and build from the ground up an off-road vehicle, each powered by a Briggs & Stratton engine. Today this program has competitions held worldwide and an estimated 2,000 universities actively participate for top honors.
Beginning in 2017, this program will now be powered by our M19 Vanguard commercial engine (19L232-0054 G1).
