All World Formula racing engines (124335-8106/8106) and 557041 replacement service cams built and packaged after 3/14/17 will now be nitride. This process will result in a darker appearance as shown. All physical dimensions remain the same. This is a non-impacting change. Nitriding is a process where parts are placed in a vacuum state before pure nitrogen is introduced and charged in a controlled environment. The resulting charge creates nitrogen plasma which infuses nitrogen ions onto the part at a molecular level. This process creates an abrasion, fatigue resistant, strengthened part.
Basically Briggs & Stratton is doing cool stuff and we just wanted you to know about it!
