Apr 14, 2007: NCQMA Rain Delay
At NCQMA we had our State’s Race which is a big race and we had almost 200 cars total there. I like racing the region and state’s races because we get more competition and I have friends that race at other tracks that come to our track for these races. Because we had so many cars to qualify, it took a long time. We qualified 8th in the Briggs car and I think it was only because we may the wrong choice for tires and the track was cold. We qualified 3rd and 10th in our other two cars. I had to run the B-Main for World Formula and started 3rd and won. Right after that race, it rained and the rest of the races were cancelled. We were really fast in the B-Main so I know we could have done some good in the A but it rained.
Mar 31, 2007: Friendship Speedway
We didn’t have quarter midget races this weekend so I raced my legend car at Friendship Speedway in North Carolina. It’s a really fun track because it’s really fast and the corners and semi banked. I started fifth and finished second. I can’t wait to go back there and race because I think next time we can win.
Mar 24, 2007: First Quarter Midget Season
Our first race of the quarter midget season was March 24 at the NCQMA track in Salisbury NC. I love racing quarter midgets and we have a really good club in North Carolina. The World Formula car is my favorite because it’s so fast and fun to race. We practiced on Thursday and were running 5.8’s and 5.9’s so we knew we were good in our Briggs car from start. On race day, we qualified the Briggs car at a 5.82, which would have been a new track record but records weren’t open that day. I called my dad and told him I thought we could go three for three (in addition to the World Formula, we also run two other classes). We won Briggs and Senior. I have to thank Paul and Kevin and my Dad.
